I'm a packaging and brand designer with 8+ years of corporate retail experience in my back pocket, 2 cats at my feet, and a passion for helping product based businesses stand out and generate buzz around their brand through strategic design.
In this post I’ll be covering the basics of email marketing and 15 eCommerce newsletter ideas so you can start increasing your sales.
It’s no secret these days that Instagram has been getting on every business owner’s nerves. The changes have made your old ways of marketing less effective and it feels like the only option is Reels or TikTok. But, as many great marketers and business owners will tell you, Instagram (and social media for that matter) isn’t everything. In fact, one of the best ways to convert leads into customers is through email marketing. Because, while on Instagram only a fraction of your audience is even shown your content by their algorithm, all subscribers on your email list will be shown every email you send. It’s then just a matter of enticing them to open it.
Email marketing is “the act of sending a commercial message, typically to a group of people, using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing. It involves using email to send advertisements, request business, or solicit sales or donations.”
So, in a nutshell, email marketing is using email as a means to nurture and convert your audience into paying customers.
One of the best ways, of not THE best way, to grow your list of email subscribers is to offer a freebie. Check out my 10 E-Commerce Freebie Opt-in Ideas to Grow your Email Subscribers for more ideas.
Here’s how it works:
Continue to share your list anywhere that you can. Remember that on social media, not everyone is going to see your content the first time you post it, so keep posting it over time.
As your list grows, you’ll want to start sending out regular newsletters to keep your audience interested, engaged, and nurtured.
Personally, I use Flodesk for all of my email marketing needs because it allows me to quickly create beautifully designed emails and track how my audience responds so I can keep offering them more relevant content.
